Perhaps this was for the best since Ullman probably would not have agreed with Simmons unique look and style in the band and his overall rockstar lifestyle.

Liv Ullmann – Now

Things seemed to be on the up for Ullman following her break-up with Simmons, as she went onto win a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for The Emigrants. From the outside, Simmons and Williams seemed like a rock ‘n’ roll match made in heaven. While their romance was not to last, however, Simmons did help Williams produce an album.

Simmons’ father abandoned his family when he was very young. Unbeknownst to them, he would go on to have another family, which included three half sisters, of whom Gene was entirely unaware. Sharon, Drora, and Ogenia were born and raised in the country Simmons left. The siblings would not meet until Simmons embarked on his first journey back to Israel since leaving with his mother as a small child. The visit also gave him a chance to pay his respects to his father’s grave.

Sharon, Drora, And Ogenia Witz – Now

Gene’s 2011 visit to Israel was thoroughly documented on his short-lived reality show, Gene Simmons Family Jewels. On the monumental episode, Simmons addressed his background, saying, “I’m Israeli. I’m a stranger in America. I’m an outsider.” The estranged siblings celebrated their reunion as they reveled in the fact that they somehow had a famous brother. In the course of the episode, Simmons expressed his regret that he didn’t come sooner to meet his father before he’d passed away.

While her romantic life may not have had a fairytale ending, Large has found happiness working to promote various forms of alternative therapies.

Janice Ian – Worked Together

Janice Ian may have been a famous musician in her own right, but her talent certainly helped to buoy Simmons’ own career. Simmons’ 1979 solo album was not exactly the hit he’d hoped it would be, but the only song that gained any traction happened to feature Janice Ian. The two may have had wildly disparate musical styles, as Ian was known for her work as a folk singer, but “Radioactive” became a runaway hit just the same.

Janice Ian – Now

Janice Ian may not have become an American icon like several other American folk singers, but she certainly enjoyed her fair share of popularity among lovers of the genre, and her name has been immortalized in American pop culture.
