Azealia Banks and Rihanna Social Media Feud Takes An Ugly Turn

The latest social media battle quickly turned personal, when a disagreement about President Donald Trump’s latest executive order caused pop star Rihanna and rapper Azealia Banks to fight over Twitter.

It all began on Sunday when Rihanna tweeted in response to the President’s order, “Disgusted! The news is devastating! America is being ruined right before our eyes! What an immoral pig you have to be to implement such BS!!”

In response to this, Azealia Banks decided to fire back at the Barbadian singer by posting, “As far as Rihanna (who isn’t a citizen, and can’t vote) and all the rest of the celebrities who are using their influence to stir the public, you lot really REALLY need to shut up and sit down.”

She then continued the rant by saying, “Stop chastising the president. It’s stupid and pathetic to watch. All of these confused people confuse other confused people. Hoping the president fails is like getting on an airplane and hoping the pilot crashes. What makes you think, the USA is going to enter the Middle East destroy a bunch of s*** and pull out without any real repercussions ????”

Rihanna was quick to respond by posting a black and white picture of herself on Instagram with a caption that read, “the face you make when you a immigrant #stayawayfromthechickens #iheartnuggets #saveourhens.” Rihanna’s hashtags were most likely referring to the incident in which Banks claimed she sacrificed chickens as a part of her Wiccan beliefs.

The back-and-forth did not stop there, as Banks posted a screen shot of Rihanna’s post with her own response, which included insults about Rihanna’s upbringing in Barbados and references to Rihanna’s alleged drug use.

Rihanna fired back by posting a picture of a person’s face covered up with an American flag and the accompanying caption read, “The face you make when you screaming in an empty room.”

To this, Banks first posted another screenshot of Rihanna’s post along with, “You’re clearing [sic] listening and responding to each and every post,” she wrote. “These pop stars love me.” She also later added several videos that used explicit language in order to fight back against Rihanna.

The two finally ended the online argument, each with a final post that left very different messages to each other. Rihanna’s final post referred to her recent trip to Malawi, in which she said, “Met the bravest, most humble kids and young women this week! I can’t wait to share more! #CLF #GC #GPE,” and posted a picture of herself with many Malawian schoolchildren.

On the other side, Banks’ final post on the matter read, “I Am A Witch, don’t push me. Knocking me down is the easy part. If you want me to stay there trust me, you will need back up.”

Hopefully, the two singers can put their differences aside and continue to focus on their music.
