There is no doubt that first responders are heroes and deserve a lot of appreciation. This was also the thought of Natalie Reilly, an Arizona native who started a “Nothing but Love Notes” project. She began this activity on Valentine’s day four years ago with her mother who was fighting cancer at the time.
As an attempt to cheer her mother up, she got many cards and they began to fill them with heartfelt messages. After writing many “thank you” notes, they went around town for hours looking for police officers, veterans, firefighters, and many more. What was a successful attempt in lifting her mother’s spirits has become a tradition that Reilly continues to uphold.
The Tradition of Handing Love Notes to First Responders Continues
Even after her mother’s passing, Natalie Reilly continued the tradition of handing out love notes to first responders every day. With a number of these notes always in her purse, she is ready to brighten the day of a person in uniform at any moment. She believes that sometimes the strongest ones among us are those that need a bit of care and appreciation the most.
Whether the notes came to them on a bad day or after a long and tiring shift, the recipients of these notes truly appreciate them.
A Love Story Bloomed
It turns out that the positivity and love we send out has a way of coming back to us. After years of spreading good will, love, and appreciation, Reilly found love through the notes when she handed one to a retired police officer who later became her boyfriend. Continuing the tradition of writing and handing out love notes to first responders in her mother’s memory has brought about a lot of positivity for Reilly and all the recipients.
Hopefully, this amazing story will inspire many more such acts of kindness in all of us.
These Genius Hacks Can Help Take Any Tupperware Collection to the Next Level
Tupperware is one of those things that you will find in the cupboards regardless of whose kitchen you are in. Below, we have collected some of these genius hacks that can help you take any Tupperware collection to the next level.
When you are into taking photos, it will sometimes be dangerous to use your camera, for instance, in the rain.
However, you can use one of your old Tupperware bins to give your camera a little extra protection.
What Do I Do About These Stains?
We have all heated up some tomato sauce in a Tupperware container only to find it stained after the sauce is removed. Most of us just put up with it, but there is a way to get rid of that stain.
All you have to do is mix some water and baking soda into a bowl to make a paste. Then, scrub the container with the mixture. When done, rinse the Tupperware off, and you should see a stain-free container.
Use Organizers To Declutter
One of the hardest things about Tupperware is that it seems to grow and get unruly without you even realizing it. If you want to keep from buying more because you can’t find that one piece, then you will want to keep them organized.
There are many methods to do this. One of them is to use arts and craft bins. By separating out the main containers from the lids, you will see an amazing improvement in the storage of your Tupperware.
Odds & Ends
How many of us have that one drawer where all little things go to be lost for eternity? Most of us have at least one, but they don’t have to be so overwhelming. You can use Tupperware to organize all those odds and ends.
For instance, batteries… you can find a plastic container and use it to store the batteries so that they aren’t rolling around all over the place. That’s a great idea!
Tensions Rods For Organization
You know those rods we buy for curtains? They can actually be used for more than just making your house look pretty. In fact, they can be used in your drawers to help keep your Tupperware organized.
All you have to do is make it the shortest length possible and then place it in the drawer. Extend it out until it’s tight and then use these dividers to organize your Tupperware collection lids.
Lemon Works, Too!
Tupperware gets used to store things in the fridge or to cook things in the microwave. Because of this, they get stained and marked up rather easily, but you can use some common things in your kitchen to solve this problem.
One of these methods is to use a lemon. You can cut the lemon in half and then rub the flesh over the entirety of the container. Then, let it dry in the sun and wash it normally. You should see a cleaner piece of Tupperware when done.
Need a Birdbath?
If you have a decent-sized garden, you may consider putting in a birdbath. They can be a nice addition and bring some more wildlife into your garden, too.
If this is something you’re considering, but you don’t have a lot of money, you can use some Tupperware to make yourself one. You will have to drill small holes and attach some string to the container. Other than that, it is all about location.
Lazy Susan Isn’t So Lazy
The Lazy Susan may very well be one of the best kitchen gadgets out there. Not only can you organize spices and condiments on a table (or the meal itself if yours is big enough), but you can use it to make getting to your kitchen gear easier, as well.
This goes for the organization for that out-of-control Tupperware collection. This one takes a little handy work, but once it is done, you will never have a hard time finding that top to your Tupperware again.
Those tough stains seem to elicit the creation of many ways to get rid of them. Another common household cleaning product you can use to do this is bleach. This is especially handy when dealing with those stubborn tomato sauce stains.
You should fill the container with warm water and a few tablespoons of bleach. Let that sit for a day, and then rinse the Tupperware thoroughly to get rid of the bleach residue. You should see a vast improvement.
Better Butter Dish
If you are someone who still buys stick butter, then you may be looking for a good butter dish. You can go for the traditional porcelain or ceramic butter dishes, or you can use one of the many fine Tupperware options.
When housed in a Tupperware container, the butter keeps its freshness quite well. You will want to turn it upside down and then remove the bottom when you want to use it, though.
Wooden Dividers Do the Trick
Every kitchen is different, so the method by which you organize your Tupperware will vary. That is why there are so many different ideas and hacks when it comes to this topic. One great option is to use wooden dividers.
Using wooden dividers will allow you to choose an option that matches your wood shade, which leaves your home looking put together. Plus, you can cut them down to fit the drawers or cabinets the way you want. This will give you a Tupperware cabinet with a nice organized look.
You Can Cook In Them!
Many people just look at Tupperware as a storage vessel. It might be primarily used for this reason, but if you are looking to cook things in the microwave, you can also use Tupperware to cook the food in.
You can use your Tupperware to steam veggies and reheat leftovers. The truth is that the Tupperware in your cabinet can be used in the microwave for many different things.
What Am I Going To Do With This CD Rack?
What are you doing with those old CD racks that you have no use for any longer? Don’t throw them out! You can use them to get a little more organized in the kitchen. By taking them and mounting them or simply setting them in your cabinet you can use them to organize the lids of your Tupperware.
These are the pieces of the Tupperware that tend to get the most out of control, so having a tool to contain the mess is a nice idea.
Let Them Get Some Sun
Fabrics and other things that sit in the sunlight sometimes end up with discoloration or fading. This is true of Tupperware, as well, but in this instance, it could be a good thing. If your Tupperware is stained and needs a refresh, then the sun may be your best friend.
Simply rinse the Tupperware underwater and then set it in a spot where it gets plenty of sunlight. This will help bleach out the stains.
This Fits Nicely
If you are looking for a cheap way to organize your Tupperware cabinet, you can always go with the box-in-a-box method, as well. This takes a box that comes from a grocery store or from something you have purchased and repurposes it.
Find a box that is the right size for the cabinet or drawer and then simply sort your Tupperware out. You can even put a box in the box so that you can keep the lids and containers organized better.
First Aid Hack
Are you trying to set up your house so that you’re ready for anything when it comes to first aid needs? Maybe you want to create a first aid kit for your car. Regardless, if you look at premade kits, they can be quite expensive.
However, you can use a Tupperware container and some first aid supplies to create your own DIY first aid kit. This also allows you to personalize the contents so that you have exactly what you need when you need it.
No One Reads Magazines Anymore, Right?
Everything is going digital, so if you are still sitting on some of those magazine racks, you may want to hold on to them. You can use them in the cabinets to hold your lids so they don’t fall out every time you open the cabinet.
Take the magazine rack and set it in the cabinet, or get a little fancy and mount it with a few small screws. Either way, your lids will stay where you want them.
Keeping the Ride Clean
No one wants a trashy car, so having a trash receptacle in the backseat can help with that. However, most trash cans that are small enough don’t come with a lid, and that can lead to a stinky car. Why not use one of your Tupperware containers as your car trash can?
Find one that is a good size to fit in the car, then line it with a grocery bag or a small trash can bag. Snap on the lid and voila, no more stinky, messy car.
Dishing On This
Those dish drying racks make life a lot easier when you are washing dishes, but that is not the only place they can lighten the load and help you stay organized. In fact, some people actually use them to organize Tupperware.
This may be one of the most budget-friendly options when it comes to keeping your Tupperware tidy. All you have to do is set the rack in the cabinet of a drawer and start sorting those lids and containers.
With more people spending time at home, TikTok has seen a rise in use. The social media platform has become very popular because of all the unique challenges that go viral on it. One of these happened in July of 2020.
Adi Kempler posted a hack to get rid of those stains on your Tupperware. All you have to do is put soap and water in the container, then drop a paper towel in the container. Once that is done, you close the container with the lid and shake for a minute. It seems to work, you should try it!
