She took the money that she’d saved for college in 2003 and started up a blood testing company in Palo Alto, California called Theranos.

This blood testing lab is a brilliant way to save money, being less expensive that the commercial labs available. The company is now worth about $9 billion, with $400 million raised from venture capitalists. Elizabeth Holmes’ 50% stake in the company is worth about $4.5 billion. The company, Theranos, allows for a painless prick to collect a single drop of blood which can be tested at a small fraction of the cost of commercial labs that require multiple vials for testing. The company’s board is composed of excellent professionals including George Shultz and Henry Kissinger. In 2014, the largest retail pharmacy chain in the United States, Walgreens, announced that they will be bringing Theranos Wellness Centers to their 8,100 US locations.

You may not have heard of them, but your cell phone relies on their products, which include the antennas, receivers and cables that are needed for cell phone signals to be sent from one place to another all over the world. The company began by manufacturing the antennas needed for television and radio connections before branching out into the world of cellular phones. Kathrein’s grandfather left the business to Kathrein’s father, who ran the company until his death in 2012. The company primarily focuses on taking runway styles and making them publically available and affordable to the masses while the fashions are still trendy and exciting. They are able to do this more quickly and economically than other companies, like Gap, which is the third largest global clothing retailer. Tom Persson is currently worth $3 million at the age of 30, and his father is currently the richest person in Sweden.

He left the firm in 2008 and he started his own business, a new software firm called Asana.

Along with his former Wall Street Journal reporter wife, Moskovitz also contributes a significant amount of time and resources to Good Ventures in support of important causes like eradicating malaria and encouraging equal rights in marriage for the LGBT community. Zuckerberg dropped out of Harvard University to start his business and achieved an unsurpassed level of fame and success along with his billions of dollars in profits from the unique and well-timed creation of the social media giant, Facebook. His work and success were so fascinating that a movie was made about his adventures in launching the network.

TechCrunch Conference - San Francisco, CA

To this day, Mark Zuckerberg is still building his company, purchasing new businesses, investing his money, and generally succeeding wherever he turns. He became the 16th riches person in the world before he was even 30 years old, and is currently worth $33.4 billion.

3. Julio Mario Santo Domingo, III –29 Years Old – Worth $2.2 Billion

People love beer, and Julio Mario Santo Domingo, III, much like his older sister, Tatiana Casiraghi, has benefited from a family fortune centered on that one universal agreement. The siblings were both heirs to the Santo Domingo Columbian beer fortune, made from the beer company, Bavaria, started by their grandfather and traded in 2005. The inheritance of their grandfather’s business made Julio Mario Santo Domingo, III and Tatiana Casiraghi billionaires (and their uncles too), with Domingo’s share making him worth $2.2 billion. Still in his twenties, Domingo uses his money to support a lavish lifestyle and a $4 million New York City apartment.

With the freedom to do what he chooses, he works as a DJ and promotes his group. Most of us can only envy the good fortune to be born into this family.

2. Bobby Murphy –26 Years Old – Worth $1.5 Billion

Bobby Murphy came together with a couple of members of his Kappa Sigma fraternity while attending as a senior at Stanford University, and together they created an app called Picaboo, which wasn’t as successful as they’d hoped. Two of these three students (Bobby Murphy and Evan Spiegel) would later rebrand the company as SnapChat, which as you may know, was a roaring success.

Bobby Murphy’s parents are state employees, and his area of study was in mathematics and science when he first started working on the app that would later become an exciting, engaging, multi-billion dollar company. Thanks to SnapChat, Murphy is currently worth $1.5 billion at the age of 26.

1. Evan Spiegel – 24 Years Old – Worth Over $1.5 Billion

Evan Siegel worked with Bobby Murphy to create the unsuccessful photo messanging app, Picaboo, and later to rebrand that app into the wildly successful SnapChat. He went directly from college into a CEO position and used his education in product design from Stanford University to ensure that the company gained ground quickly and ultimately made him the youngest billionaire in the whole world.

Facebook attempted to buy the app or $3 billion and others offered closer to $19 billion, but Spiegel sees his role and position in life and in business to be fortunate and too valuable to sell.

As he expressed that so few people ever get to own such a business, and that to sell it for a short term reward would be less than exciting, it looks like Evan Spiegel will be keeping his position as CEO and cofounder in the SnapChat company. Today, Spiegel himself is worth over $1.5 billion.
