Queen Nefertiti Brought Back To Life Through Incredible 3D Mapping Technology

Ever wondered what the pharaohs actually looked like? Well now, 3D technology has helped to bring Queen Nerfititi to back life, and many critics don’t like the results.

Queen Nefertiti was believed by numerous Egyptologists to be the mother of Tutankhamun. A model was created in just 500 hours, with the appropriate jewelry to accompany it. The only issue surrounding the reconstruction of Queen Nerfiti is her skin color.

Many believe that the 3,400-year-old wouldn’t have had such fair skin. The project was undertaken by researchers at the University of Bristol, United Kingdom. The team designed the face and it was Elisabeth Daynes who produced the model.

Not only does the end result, for the most part, fall in line with common theories agreed by many Egyptologists, but it also lends credence to the possibility that she was the mother of King Tutanhkhamun.

Some of the nicknames that Nefertiti was given during her rule included Great of Praises, Lady of all Women, and Sweet of Love. Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities gave Egyptologist Aidan Dodson the green light to conduct the study, in which he was able to fully inspect the mummy.

After the images of the recreation surfaced online, many people expressed their views on it. “Nefertiti was not this ugly white lady. Next,” comedian Akilah Hughes tweeted. Nefertiti’s full name was Neferneferuaten Nefertiti, which literally means “Beautiful are the Beauties of Aten, the Beautiful One has come.”

“The #TODAYshow really had the audacity to make Queen Nefertiti look like a white woman,” @BabyfaceTatz tweeted. However, there were also many experts who revealed that Nerfititi could have been white due to Egyptians’ close relations with Europeans.

The reality is that Egypt was and pretty much always has had an extremely diverse society. Another point worth making is that men of Ancient Egypt were generally darker than the women.
