Now, more than ever, it’s important to keep our world safe and healthy. While many people believe that this revolves around humans and their ability to live on this planet, this also revolves around the natural world that we live on. Thankfully, many organizations are stepping up to take control of some of this planet’s natural wonders and making sure that they continue to thrive for centuries to come. This has been the case for one river close to Zion National Park.
A Healthy World
No matter where you live in the world, there’s a high chance that you live near to a natural wonder that’s protected by its park status. It may be a National Park, or it may be a State Park, and this means that it’s looked after by those in charge every single day of the year. Yet, have you ever wondered about the area surrounding these parks? Well, that’s one of the reasons why the Nature Conservancy has decided to buy a huge plot of land that sits adjacent to the Zion National Park.
A Huge Cost
It’s important to note that this hasn’t come cheap for the nonprofit organization. In fact, it’s set them back a whopping $4.3 million, but they knew that it was a price worth paying. That’s because this 419-acre plot of land in Utah features a beautiful landscape that is home to countless animals that are close to making their way onto the ‘endangered’ list. As if that wasn’t enough, it also features the Virgin River, which is used as a main source of water for those who live in Washington County. Because of this, it was a no-brainer for the Nature Conservancy. It’s a valuable piece of the natural world and needs to be protected at all costs.
It’s amazing to see organizations stepping up to protect the health of our planet.
